Just how clean is that glass in your hotel room?

Has it ever crossed your mind that the glass provided in your hotel room might be contaminated?  Well, if it's a real glass, it's a real possibility.  The only way to know the glass in your room is clean is if it's disposable and individually wrapped.  We never risk it and always pack Solo cups when we travel.

Check out this video expose on hotel glasses and how they were being cleaned at some Atlanta hotels.

My grandmother taught me this years ago!!!!!.....If everyone throws all of the towels etc in the bathtub before they leave..if it becomes a common practice...then you will always know they are clean and fresh....we recently rented a condo in key West...it wasn't until we left we realized none of our linens were clean when we checked in...we washed them as we used them...texture much different...linens didn't smell clean....take nothing for granted...also take spray clorox.... spray and rinse tub and shower before using...learned about that one the hard way!!!!!!!!!
    Think I will stay home!

Very good advice. Many people who travel don't realize all the conditions in a vacation or hotel resort.

Having a family member who works in the hospitality dept. of a major resort chain I know from them that many things such as linens and glasses don't even get changed in between people checking in and out. They said a lot of this is due to the resorts budget and they are understaffed. At one of their resorts they had 4 cleaning ladies for around 320 rooms so it made it impossible to keep up. So thats why when i go somewhere I usually clean the linens or bring my own stuff so I dont have to use the hotels.

Ugh. We actually used the glasses at the hotels we stayed in during our recent Europe trip. It did cross my mind that the glasses could be a bit sketchy (we took off the top bed covers for that reason), but we still used the glasses. Will definitely bring our own cups next time.
