Providence Canyon

Providence Canyon is located in Lumpkin, GA. I took the above picture last spring when we visited the Canyon. There were so many beautiful flowers blooming!

The Canyon was created by erosion caused by poor farming practices in the 1800's. Some of the gullies are as deep as 150 feet. There is a trail you can hike to reach the canyon floor. The canyon is absolutely breathtaking!

I guess that goes to show you that you need to go traveling in your own backyard because I had no earthly idea GA had a canyon much less as a tourist site which I will now have to go visit. Thanks for mentioning it.
